Officials on the goal line?

Filed under: FA Cup FAQ by: admin

I was watching some soccer some time ago. I can’t remember if it was Champions League or FA Cup or Premiership or MLS or something else but I clearly remember seeing two extra officials on the field standing very close to each net. They were clearly officials as they were wearing the same uniform as the linesmen and the referee. Has anybody else seen and/or heard about this? Is this a field test to see if having officials on the goal line will either prevent missed calls like this morning and/or help make calls on fouls in the box? Any details would be nice.
Jeffrey – it’s the same sport regardless what it is called. This is the single biggest idiotic argument in the world of sport. Here in North America, as well as in Australia and New Zealand and Ireland and other parts of the world we call the sport soccer. It’s the same freaking game. Soccer is actually a British term which came from British slang adding -er to assoc which comes from association football. When I’m speaking Romanian I call it fotbal. When I’m speaking English I call it soccer. It’s the same game. And I didn’t ask if they SHOULD have officials on the goal line, I asked if anybody else has heard of or seen the example that I spoke of where officials were on the goal line.
William – do you remember what league or matches this was being done in? Were they international friendlies? I tried looking up some media articles about it with no luck. All I could find were articles talking about the need for officials on the goal line rather than articles about them actually experimenting with it. Do you know of any links?

  1. Jeffrey Says:

it called football not soccer and yes they should have.

  2. William Says:

FIFA was experimenting with this earlier in this season, but made it very clear at the time that they would not be implemented in this World Cup.

EDIT: Here is an article about it. It was in the Europa League…

Doesn’t matter. FIFA always employ numpty refs for the world cup.
Capitalism employs numpties in empowering positions because they know that they will cause a great deal of trouble keeping the minds of the masses away from the goal posts.

It all started with Kegan= Not a manager.
Then they looked abroad for foreign managers to manage England= You can’t change cultural perpetuation of a nation, hence bad performances ever since, players divided with no respect for those who managing them.

The English players turned up again having been psychologically beaten by German media rhetoric.
They fell for it again, Germany gets a lucky goal, England wake up and decide it is possible for them to beat the Germans but not before it’s to late.
At least under previous management we were able to take the Germans all the way and go to penalties.

The UK has been in economic and cultural decline for a long time= Bad peerage and set government precedences, the standards of which become learned and perpetuated down through the hierarchical structure of our culture ultimately concerned with their own self preservation.

There are even cultures in this country who disagree with the countries government ideology and methodology, but they they build their nests and feed off the countries economy weakening it all the time.
No wonder there si no sense of patriotism and pride in ones country any more.

I never even watched the match because I knew what would happen.
